The “Bird of the Northern Emperor” on the first day of March
Every year from the last day of the second lunar month to the third day of the third lunar month, Wentang Community, Dongcheng, Dongguan will hold a grand dress-up parade to commemorate the birth of the Northern Emperor. On this day, the villagers carried the Bodhisattva sedan chair with the Northern Emperor Bodhisattva sitting on it. The villagers carried homemade snacks such as sponge cake, moxa horn, rice fruit, etc., forming a massive parade team to compete for beauty.

Opening
The festival has a history of more than 400 years. On the morning of April 16, Dongcheng Wentang Community held the 2018 Fifth Wentang Tourist Festival as scheduled. Deng Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongcheng Street, Yuan Baiming, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wentang Community, and others attended and jointly launched the opening ceremony. On that day, a thousand people parade and various cultural and artistic performances in Wentang streets, dozens of parade teams with different costumes were displayed. Various cultural and entertainment performances attracted many citizens to participate. The Wentang Tour Club has a long history. It has a deep mass base, a wide influence, and is very popular among the general public. It is a beautiful scenery full of humanistic content in Wentang and even Dongcheng cultural construction.
It is reported that the Wentang Tourist Association in Dongcheng was first founded to commemorate the birth of the Northern Emperor and has a history of more than 400 years. To commemorate this festival, villagers from Wentang in Dongcheng formed a massive parade team, and there were many young men and women dressed in costumes, dressed in various mission styles in operas. The tour group set out from Bai Temple and marched from village to village. During the parade, there will be a costume drama that will be staged for several consecutive days. Later, due to various reasons, it was interrupted for more than 60 years. In 2009, with the efforts of enthusiastic people, Wentang restored this tradition and held a tour meeting on the same day, named the Wentang Tourist Culture Festival. It was held for three consecutive years in 2010 and 2011, and later it was held every three years.
The Wentang people have been doing this for a long time. They carry the Bodhisattva fruits before spring plowing, which means that the Bodhisattva hopes that this year will be better than the old year. Moreover, there will be a wide range of travel to WentangThe participatory nature is the most solemn, lively and festive festival among the people of Wentang. The Cinema Festival shows the scene of people watching, celebrating, and having fun together.

The drizzle in the scene will never extinguish the enthusiasm of the masses. “This year is the fifth year. Around the mid-Qing Dynasty, people from Wentang built this white temple in Chalinggang. From then on, there has been a custom of holding tour meetings. That is, from the last day of the second lunar month to the third day of the third lunar month, all Wentang will hold a grand dress-up parade in Wentang.” A staff member of Wentang introduced. The author saw the float parade on site, including the national peace and stability, the Three Stars’ Success, the Cultural and Military Guards, the Dragon and Phoenix Success, the Enterprise Cinema Float, the Tianji Sends the Children, the Four Great Classics, the Head Team, the Flower Fairy Congratulations, the Lions’ Spring Festival, and the Loyalty Report. The country, folk legends, soap-up team, ethnic wedding, campus fun, entertainment, strange color, Bodhisattva tour and other teams have expanded a lot compared to the past, with a total of about 1,000 people patrolling.
The gorgeous float parade has presented a rich audio-visual feast to tens of thousands of citizens. Although the weather was not beautiful and drizzled every day, this did not prevent the joyful and laughter from spreading everywhere along the line. On the morning of that day, Komiks was in front of Wentang Bai Temple, and they were all citizens who came to participate in the tournament. The parade team of more than 1,000 people started sailing in an orderly manner with Bai Temple as the starting point.
During the parade, the performance team in costumes actively interacted with the audience along the way. At the same time, the villagers of Wentang burn incense and worship gods along the way, beat gongs and drums, and shout loudlyBabaylan and warmly welcome the parade phalan Komiks. When each float passed by, there were constant cheers and the atmosphere was very warm. The entire tour took more than an hour, showing the prosperity of Xiawentang Community in the new era, and the good scene of prosperity and peace in the country. According to Wentang Community staff, this year’s parade team set out from Baimiao in Wentang Community, along various blocks of Wentang Community, passing through villages such as Wentang Zaoyi New Village and Zao San Francisco. Through Wentang Neighborhood Committee, Chaling Park, Wenge Park, Wanfu Garden and other attractions, the whole journey is about 4.5 kilometers.

Colorful and colorful art performances will last for four nights
In addition to traditional program performances and fairy floats, this year’s Beidi Birthday Tour Cultural Festival is more fun than in previous years. “We take promoting excellent national culture as the main line and displaying Lingnan folk customs as the basis, and continue to explore, inherit, reform and innovate this historic folk culture, Babaylan, and present rich content to the general public with diverse forms, combination of ancient and modern times, distinctive and popular content.” Community staff introduced.

The colorful artistic performance will last for four nights.
